Citizenship and Passport of Malta
The program previously known as Malta’s Citizenship by Investment for Exceptional Services Direct Investment has now been renamed the Malta Citizenship by Investment Program. The program is aimed at individuals with high net worth. To be eligible, individual investors must commit to a minimum investment of €600,000 to the national development fund established by the government and maintain a three-year residency. Alternatively, a faster option is available that requires proof of one year’s residency and an investment commitment of €750,000. Additionally, investors are required to make a contribution of €50,000 for each additional dependent listed on their application.
Apart from the investment commitment, investors must also invest an additional €700,000 in real estate or enter into a lease agreement worth at least €16,000 per month for a minimum amount of time. Additionally, a mandatory donation of €10,000 to a registered charitable, social, sporting, scientific, or animal welfare organization or an approved non-governmental organization is required.
Malta Permanent Residency Program
The Maltese Permanent Residency Program (MPRP) offers long-term residency benefits to international investors who commit €98,000 to the government, in addition to paying application fees. A mandatory donation of €2,000 is also required to be made to a Maltese-registered NGO. Along with the initial commitments, applicants will also need to sign a long-term property lease agreement worth at least €10,000 per year.
The program offers a secure and hassle-free path for obtaining a residency visa in an EU Schengen country. Furthermore, there is no minimum stay requirement for maintaining residency.
